ABOUT US

swing241.jpg

Maxine has been dancing Lindy Hop and Swing since 1998.  Hooked since seeing a group of young kids swing dancing in a bandstand in DisneyLand California, she came back to the UK eager to learn.  She pretty quickly found Swingland, and dance teachers Martin Ellis and Liza Patoux.  To this day she sticks true to where she began and has been dancing ever since.

Maxine came from a performance background herself, as a trained actress, but found her passion in everything that came with Lindy Hop.  The music, the fashion, the style, the ethics - but above all, the dance!

Maxine both performs and teaches Lindy Hop and Swing and wants to inspire others to take up this infectious dance too. Particularly the next generation.  Maxine has created her own dance company, called SWINGDYHOP, which teaches this amazing dance form, along with the fashion and history of a bygone era that should never be left in the past!
